About

Sue Fantini is a visual artist based in Forster NSW whose expressive works are inspired by her love of travel, vibrant cultures and lush landscapes.
Working with layered acrylics and digital art, Sue’s work captures the rich colours, bold patterns & intricate textures of some of her favourite destinations.
Using a playful composition and a vivid pallet, Sue blends abstract shapes with recognisable imagery which invites viewers to embark on a journey of the imagination where every canvas tells a story of exotic adventures and cherished memories, maybe taking them back to a special place or moment in time.
Passionate about travel and adventure and a lover of colour and handmade led me to open a fair trade and eco shop on the beautiful mid-north coast. I had many happy years travelling to far away places hunting for treasure, showcasing artisan's work and experiencing the amazing and varied cultures around the globe.
I began painting in 2019 putting a few originals in my shop and was surprised to find my customers liked my work enough to buy it.After selling our business in 2020 and covid slowing things down I picked up my paints and began to experiment. I started with a card range, moved onto prints and then developed a range of handmade wall tiles that I launched at Life in Style in 2022.
My art is intuitive and self taught, inspired by memories of my travels. Cobblestone streets, old patina walls and crowded markets. Colourful handmade textiles, ceremonies with offerings of flowers and fruit and relaxing in a palm filled sandy bay watching the waves roll in.I have been so lucky to enjoy the amazing and varied cultures the world has on offer & to be able to share these memories with my art practice.
I love playing with acrylics and digital art using pattern and a bright, bold and juicy colour palette that takes you on a journey to distant tropical islands, exotic locations and lush dreamscapes.
